Richard Jones Biog - richard@binaryrefinery.com

Richard Jones has been awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) accolade since 2007 for his involvement in the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework developer community. Alongside an active presence in several online forums and communities, attendance at developer conferences and involvement in shared-source projects, Richard has also written a number of technical articles and maintains an active technical blog. In 2006, Richard was voted British Computer Society Developer Of The Year.

Richard is Development Director for Anglia Business Solutions based in Cambridge (UK). Anglia Business Solutions is a Microsoft Gold Partner and MBS Gold Partner specialising in supplying Microsoft Dynamics NAV solutions in a number of markets. One of the key vertical markets that Anglia addresses is Fresh Produce.

In the Fresh produce industry the majority of the workforce are based away from desktop and laptop PC’s and do literally work ‘in the field’. To this extent Richard has found himself running a number of mobility based projects; providing ERP functionality to mobile workers.

In addition Richard has been working extensively with SharePoint performing the largest European rollout of SharePoint Portal for a Biotech company. This also led him into the wonderful world of mobile portals.

Richard is proud of the fact that he has three ERP systems under his belt, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and JD Edwards.

The focus of Richard’s career has been all about empowering mobile workforces. Prior to Anglia Richard worked very much within the supply chain, for companies such as Marks & Spencer’s, Logica, Nortel and O2.

He is often quoted as saying: "I have lots of hobbies, but yes most of them do involve my laptop".
